Predicting how People Play Games: a Simple Dynamic Model of Choice. [PDF]

open access: yes
We use the model developed in Sarin and Vahid (1999, GEB) to explain the experiments reported in Erev and Roth (1998, AER). The model supposes that players maximize subject to their "beliefs" which are non-probabilistic and scalar-valued.

p-Hexafluoroisopropanol phenyl functionalized graphene for QCM based detection of dimethyl methylphosphonate, a simulant of the nerve agent sarin

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2018
The detection of DMMP (dimethyl methylphosphonate, a simulant of nerve agent sarin) was performed by using p-hexafluoroisopropanol phenyl (HFIPP) functionalized graphene (GR) via hydrogen bond interactions.

Grain Boundary Space Charge Engineering of Solid Oxide Electrolytes: Model Thin Film Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates unprecedented control of grain boundary electrical properties in solid electrolytes. Selective diffusion of cations through grain boundaries in thin films enables 12 orders of magnitude variation in ionic resistance, proving that systematic chemical modification of grain boundary electrical properties is feasible.

Synthesis, in vitro screening and molecular docking of isoquinolinium-5-carbaldoximes as acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase reactivators

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
The series of symmetrical and unsymmetrical isoquinolinium-5-carbaldoximes was designed and prepared for cholinesterase reactivation purposes. The novel compounds were evaluated for intrinsic acetylcholinesterase (AChE) or butyrylcholinesterase (BChE ...

Henry Ford vs. assembly line balancing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Ford’s Assembly Line at Highland Park is one of the most influential conceptualizations of a production system. New data reveal Ford’s operations were adaptable to strongly increasing and highly variable demand.

A Scalable, Durable, Fire‐Safe All‐Day Passive Radiative Cooling Coating for Sustainable Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a scalable, durable coating that combines a fire‑retardant copolymer adhesive, hollow glass microspheres, and boron oxide to achieve passive radiative cooling with over 94% solar reflectance and >95% mid‑infrared emissivity. The coating maintains performance after UV and rain exposure and exhibits UL‑94 V‑0 fire resistance, enabling ...

Photocatalytic degradation of an organophosphorus compound by porous Au- and WO3- modified TiO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Organophosphorus (OP) compounds are highly toxic substances that are often used as chemical warfare agents and pesticides. OP pesticides are the most widely used class of pesticide in the world, and due to their ubiquity, the contamination of ...

Comparison of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt with covered stent and balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration in managing isolated gastric varices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
OBJECTIVE: Although a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is commonly placed to manage isolated gastric varices, balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO) has also been used. We compare the long-term outcomes from these

Deciphering the Interplay Between Wetting and Chemo‐Mechanical Fracture in Lithium‐Ion Battery Cathode Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The fundamental intricate couplings between electrolyte wetting and fracture evolution are investigated in large single‐crystal V2O5 samples using both experimental techniques and simulations. Both approaches reveal consistent fracture patterns and lithium distribution concentration maps influenced by the wetting mechanism.

The use of provenance in information retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The volume of electronic information that users accumulate is steadily rising. A recent study [2] found that there were on average 32,000 pieces of information (e-mails, web pages, documents, etc.) for each user.
