DNA Environment of Centromeres and Non-Homologous Chromosomes Interactions in Mouse
Although the pericentromeric regions of chromosomes that are enriched in tandemly repeated satellite DNA represent a significant part of eukaryotic genomes, they remain understudied, which is mainly due to interdisciplinary knowledge gaps. Recent studies

Epigenetic regulation of genes mediated by satellite DNA [PDF]
Satellite DNA is a highly repetitive DNA, organized in long tandem arrays, located in the heterochromatic regions of chromosomes. Repeats of satellite DNAs can be excised from their heterochromatin loci and integrate into euchromatin.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Chromosomal Differentiation of Deschampsia (Poaceae) Based on Four Satellite DNA Families
Diverse families of satellite DNA (satDNA) were detected in heterochromatin regions of Deschampsia. This kind of repetitive DNA consists of tandem repeat sequences forming big arrays in genomes, and can contribute to lineages differentiation.

Dispersed satellite DNA elements and their effect on gene expression [PDF]
Different from dispersed transposable elements whose role in evolution of gene regulation was investigated in diverse model organism, influence of satellites DNA on gene regulation was not investigated till now.

Rhabdomyosarcoma: Advances in Molecular and Cellular Biology. [PDF]
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue malignancy in childhood and adolescence. The two major histological subtypes of RMS are alveolar RMS, driven by the fusion protein PAX3-FKHR or PAX7-FKHR, and embryonic RMS, which is usually ...

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Satellite DNA Modulates Gene Expression in the Beetle Tribolium castaneum after Heat Stress. [PDF]
Non-coding repetitive DNAs have been proposed to perform a gene regulatory role, however for tandemly repeated satellite DNA no such role was defined until now.
