Inhibition of the Cardiac p38-MAPK Pathway by SB203580 Delays Ischemic Cell Death

Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, 2000
We report that SB203580 (SB), a specific inhibitor of p38-MAPK, protects pig myocardium against ischemic injury in an in vivo model. SB was applied by local infusion into the subsequently ischemic myocardium for 60 min before a 60-min period of coronary occlusion followed by 60-min reperfusion (index ischemia).

SB203580 attenuates acute lung injury and inflammation in rats with acute pancreatitis in pregnancy

Inflammopharmacology, 2018
Acute pancreatitis in pregnancy (APIP) can lead to multiple maternal and fetal organ injury and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway may be involved in it; however, whether APIP can result in acute lung injury and P38MAPK signaling pathway is involved in the pathogenesis has not been elucidated.

SB203580 inhibits epithelial–mesenchymal transition and pulmonary fibrosis in a rat silicosis model

Toxicology Letters, 2016
To investigate the role of p38 MAPK in silicosis, we explored the effects of SB203580 as a specific inhibitor of p38 MAPK in the silicosis model in rats. Rats were exposed to 50mg/ml silica intratracheally. From the first day after instillation, rats were injected with SB203580 1mg/kg/d.

Tri-substituted imidazole analogues of SB203580 as inducers for cardiomyogenesis of human embryonic stem cells

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2013
The p38α mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor SB203580 had been reported to enhance the cardiomyogenesis of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs). To investigate if tri-substituted imidazole analogues of SB203580 are equally effective inducers for cardiomyogenesis of hESCs, and if there is a correlation between p38α MAPK inhibition and ...

SB203580 enhances the RV-induced loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and apoptosis in A549 cells

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
Resveratrol (RV), a naturally occurring phytoalexin, is known to possess a wide spectrum of chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic effects in various stages of human tumors. p38, a member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) superfamily, is always activated by some extracellular stimulus to regulate many cellular signal transduction pathways,

Modulation of inflammation and pathology during dengue virus infection by p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580

Antiviral Research, 2014
Dengue virus (DENV) infection could lead to dengue fever (DF), dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) or dengue shock syndrome (DSS). The disease outcome is controlled by both viral and host factors. Inflammation mediators from DENV-infected cells could contribute to increased vascular permeability, leading to severe DHF/DSS.

The p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580 abrogates TNF-mediated expansion of regulatory T cells

The Journal of Immunology, 2017
Abstract CD4+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) represent a major cellular mechanism of immune evasion of tumor. There is compelling evidence that TNF is able to activate and expand Tregs through TNFR2. However, it remains unclear which TNFR2 signaling pathway(s) is required for the activation of Tregs.

The p38 MAPK Inhibitor SB203580 Blocks Adenosine A1 Receptor-Induced Attenuation of In Vivo Myocardial Stunning

Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy, 2004
There is considerable evidence implicating a key role for p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in ischemic and pharmacological preconditioning against myocardial infarction. However, there have been few, if any, studies examining the role of p38 MAPK in the protection of stunned myocardium.

[SB203580 reduces proinflammatory cytokine production in rats after cardiopulmonary bypass].

Nan fang yi ke da xue xue bao = Journal of Southern Medical University, 2011
To examine the changes in P38MAPK during and after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and the effect of SB203580, a specific P38MAPK inhibitor, on CPB-induced pulmonary inflammatory response.Fifty-four SD rats were randomized into 3 groups (each=18), namely sham CPB group, CPB group, and SB203580 group in which rats underwent CPB with SB203580 pretreatment ...

[The protective effects of SB203580 against mortality and radiation induced intestinal injury of mice].

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 2013
This study is to investigate the protective effects of the SB203580 against radiation induced mortality and intestinal injury of mice. A total of 67 male C57BL/6 mice (20.0-22.0 g) were matched according to body weight and randomly assigned to one of three groups: control, total body irradiation exposure (IR, 7.2 Gy) only, and IR (7.2 Gy) + SB203580 ...
