Macrophages Internalize Epithelial‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles That Contain Ferritin via the Macrophage Scavenger Receptor 1 to Promote Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2025.
This study explores the interaction between intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and macrophages through extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the context of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IECs release iron‐loaded ferritin via EVs as the donor, while macrophage scavenger receptor 1 on the surface of macrophages serves as the receptor for the internalization

An annotated checklist of Wisconsin Scarabaeoidea (Coleoptera) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A survey of Wisconsin Scarabaeoidea (Coleoptera) conducted from literature searches, collection inventories, and three years offield work (1997-1999), yielded 177 species representing nine families, two of which, Ochodaeidae and Ceratocanthidae ...

Improving the kinematic performance of the SCARA-Tau PKM

open access: yes, 2010
One well acknowledged drawback of traditional parallel kinematic machines (PKMs) is that the ratio of accessible workspace to robot footprint is small for these structures.

Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 15, Issue 5, Page 773-792, May 2025.
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

SCARA Self Posture Recognition Using a Monocular Camera

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Robotic manipulators rely on feedback obtained from rotary encoders for control purposes. This article introduces a vision-based feedback system that can be used in an agricultural context, where the shapes and sizes of fruits are uncertain.

Motion–Force Interaction Performance of Parallel Robotic Mechanisms

open access: yesSmartBot, Volume 1, Issue 1, March 2025.
This review addresses a critical research gap by summarizing significant studies on the motion–force interaction performance of parallel robotic mechanisms, also known as motion/force transmission and constraint performance. It explores the interaction mechanism where transmission wrenches perform work on allowable motion for transmission, while ...

Towards a global understanding of tree mortality

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 245, Issue 6, Page 2377-2392, March 2025.
Summary Rates of tree mortality are increasing globally, with implications for forests and climate. Yet, how and why these trends vary globally remain unknown. Developing a comprehensive assessment of global tree mortality will require systematically integrating data from ground‐based long‐term forest monitoring with large‐scale remote sensing.

A Systematic Review of Sensor Vulnerabilities and Cyber‐Physical Threats in Industrial Robotic Systems

open access: yesIET Cyber-Physical Systems: Theory &Applications, Volume 10, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper addresses a critical gap in the literature of industrial robotics cybersecurity by presenting a comprehensive analysis of vulnerabilities in the sensing systems of industrial robots. In particular, we systematically explore how sensor performance limits, faults and biases can be exploited by attackers who can then turn these inherent ...

Maximum Dynamic Load Determination via a Novel Robust State‐Dependent Differential Riccati Equation

open access: yesIET Control Theory &Applications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel application of the differential form of the state‐dependent Riccati equation technique (SDRE) i.e., the state‐dependent differential Riccati equation (SDDRE) as an indirect solution to the robust tracking control (RTC) problem for determining maximum dynamic load.
