Purification and characterization of a novel cysteine proteinase from mackerel (Scomber australasicus)

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1994
A novel cysteine proteinase from mackerel muscle was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity using HiLoad DEAE-Sepharose, HiLoad S Sepharose, and FPLC Superdex 75 chromatographies. The molecular weight of purified proteinase was 99000 estimated by Superose 12 gel filtration.

ENZYMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF TRYPSIN FROM PYLORIC CECA OF SPOTTED MACKEREL (SCOMBER AUSTRALASICUS)

Journal of Food Biochemistry, 2006
Trypsin was purified from the pyloric ceca of spotted mackerel (Scomber australasicus) by gel filtration on Sephacryl S-200 and Sephadex G-50. The purification and yield were 20-fold and 81%, respectively, as compared to those in the starting crude extract.

Estimation of the spawning grounds of chub mackerel Scomber japonicus and spotted mackerel Scomber australasicus in the East China Sea based on catch statistics and biometric data

Fisheries Science, 2008
The spawning grounds of the chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) and spotted mackerel (Scomber australasicus) in the East China Sea were estimated based on catch statistics of the Japanese large- and medium-type purse seine fishery from 1992 to 2006. Biometric data were obtained from specimens caught by purse seiners in the East China Sea from 1998 to ...

Omega-3 phospholipids in Pacific blue mackerel (Scomber australasicus) processing by-products

Food Chemistry, 2021
The present study investigated phospholipid content, fatty acid composition and the positional distribution (sn-1,3 and sn-2) of n-3 fatty acids in four blue mackerel processing by-products (head, skin, roe, and male gonad). Total lipid was extracted using hexane/ethanol (1:2) and the analyses were carried out using NMR and GC-FID techniques.
