Acta Ichthyologica et Piscatoria, 1990 Age of mackerel caught in Northwest Atlantic in 1983-1984 was determined from otoliths. Growth rate was obtained from direct measurements and back calculations. Growth rate differed noticeably between particular year classes as well as sexes.
