Euonymus alatus Twig Extract Protects against Scopolamine-Induced Changes in Brain and Brain-Derived Cells via Cholinergic and BDNF Pathways

open access: yesNutrients, 2022
In the current study, the therapeutic and preventive effects of Euonymus alatus (EA) twig extract were investigated in a mouse model of cognitive deficit and B35 cells. Twig extract 1 was extracted with 70% ethanol and later twig extract 2 was extracted through liquid-liquid extraction with 70% ethanol and hexane.

Polypharmacy with tiagabine, levetiracetam, and perampanel in status epilepticus: Insights from EEG, biochemical, and histopathological studies in rats

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is a condition of neurological emergency, which precipitates various functional and morphological changes in the brain. Due to the risk of drug resistance associated with SE, this study aimed to evaluate a multitargeted approach to treat SE by combining clinically used antiseizure drugs. Methods In this study,

Applications of bioactive herbal extracts in dressing materials for skin wound repair: Ingredients, mechanisms and innovations

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract The skin, as the body's largest organ, plays essential roles in protection, immune regulation, and homeostasis. Skin trauma, especially chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers, poses significant clinical challenges. Traditional treatments, while often effective, can be costly and pose risks.

Novel anti-neuroinflammatory pyranone-carbamate derivatives as selective butyrylcholinesterase inhibitors for treating Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry
Butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) and neuroinflammation have recently emerged as promising therapeutic directions for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Herein, we synthesised 19 novel pyranone-carbamate derivatives and evaluated their activities against ...

Derivatives of triangular, Toeplitz, circulant matrices and matrices of other forms over semirings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this article we construct examples of derivations in matrix semirings. We study hereditary and inner derivations, derivatives of diagonal, triangular, Toeplitz, circulant matrices and of matrices of other forms and prove theorems for derivatives of matrices of these forms.

Practical Applications of Secondary/Extractive Electrospray Ionization (SESI): A Versatile Tool for Real‐Time Chemical Analysis

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the 1980s, researchers discovered the remarkable ability of electrospray plumes to effectively ionize gas‐phase molecules via secondary ionization. Around 20 years later—coinciding with the ambient mass spectrometry revolution—secondary electrospray ionization (SESI) and extractive electrospray ionization (EESI) coupled to mass spectrometry

Psychedelic‐assisted treatment for substance use disorder: A narrative systematic review

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims This is the first systematic review of the extant literature on all major psychedelic‐assisted treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD), tobacco use disorder (TUD) and other substance use disorders (SUD). We aimed to summarise the evidence for efficacy of psychedelic‐assisted treatment for AUD, TUD, and SUD; to evaluate its

Preclinical models for evaluating psychedelics in the treatment of major depressive disorder

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Psychedelic drugs have seen a resurgence in interest as a next generation of psychiatric medicines with potential as rapid‐acting antidepressants (RAADs). Despite promising early clinical trials, the mechanisms which underlie the effects of psychedelics are poorly understood.

Jordan derivations on certain Banach algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this paper, we study the types of Jordan derivations of a Banach algebra $A$ with a right identity $e$. We show that if $eA$ is commutative and semisimple, then every Jordan derivation of $ A $ is a derivation. In this case, Jordan derivations map $A$ into the radical of $A$. We also prove that every Jordan triple left (right) derivation of $ A $ is
