Abstract Objective Circulating small noncoding RNAs represent potential biomarkers of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Recently, two transfer RNA fragments (tRFs), 5′tRF Glu‐CTC and Gly‐GCC, were found to be elevated in plasma samples collected in advance of a seizure in TLE patients, suggesting they may serve as potential wet biomarkers of seizure risk ...

Neonatal seizures and GABAergic drugs: Scylla and Charybdis?
Abstract Neonates have a high incidence of seizures that are frequently difficult to control with conventional first‐line anti‐seizure medications, which are gamma‐aminobutyric acid (GABA) agonists. The reasons for this clinical problem are multifold but are likely related to the unique physiology of the immature nervous system. Specifically, the early

In the current study, the therapeutic and preventive effects of Euonymus alatus (EA) twig extract were investigated in a mouse model of cognitive deficit and B35 cells. Twig extract 1 was extracted with 70% ethanol and later twig extract 2 was extracted through liquid-liquid extraction with 70% ethanol and hexane.

Abstract Objective The pathogenesis of epilepsy is closely associated with neuronal synaptic plasticity. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can regulate various biological processes by binding to specific sequences on target genes. This study employs bioinformatics, molecular dynamics, and experimental approaches to investigate the mechanism by which MiR‐30a‐5p treats

Reversal of a cholinergic-induced deficit in a rodent model of recognition memory by the selective 5-HT6 receptor antagonist, Ro04-6790 [PDF]
Rationale: Accumulating evidence suggests a potential role for the 5-HT6 receptor in cognitive function and the potential use of 5-HT6 receptor antagonists in the treatment of learning and memory disorders. Objectives: The aim of the current study was to
