Characterization of the seabass pancreatic α-amylase gene and promoter
General and Comparative Endocrinology, 2004Seabass (Lates calcarifer) pancreatic alpha-amylase gene was cloned and characterized. The alpha-amylase cDNA has 1620 bp and the deduced polypeptide has 522 amino acids. Southern blot indicated that there are two gene copies in the seabass genome. Sequence analysis showed that except for the loss of an intron in seabass, the coding region and the exon/

Will seabass ( Dicentrarchus labrax ) quality change in a warmer ocean?
Food Research International, 2017The impacts of climate change on seafood quality, safety and human health are still unknown. The present study investigated the effect of warming on fatty acids and elements content in two tissues (muscle and liver) of the relevant commercial seabass species (Dicentrarchus labrax).

Pepsinogens and pepsins from Japanese seabass (Lateolabrax japonicus)
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2011Three pepsinogens (PG1, PG2, PG3) were highly purified from the stomach of Japanese seabass (Lateolabrax japonicus) by ammonium sulfate fractionation, DEAE-Sephacel anion exchange column chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 gel-filtration. Two dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) analysis revealed that the molecular masses of the ...
