Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Calcium Ion as a Second Messenger With Special Reference to Excitation-Contraction Coupling
.: Calcium ion (Ca2+) plays an important role in stimulus-response reactions of cells as a second messenger. This is done by keeping cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration low at rest and by mobilizing Ca2+ in response to stimulus, which in turn activates the ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Integration of the Second Messenger c-di-GMP into the Chemotactic Signaling Pathway
Elevated intracellular levels of the bacterial second messenger c-di-GMP are known to suppress motility and promote sessility. Bacterial chemotaxis guides motile cells in gradients of attractants and repellents over broad concentration ranges, thus ...

A “second messenger” for Vitamin D
Vitamin D, can be considered to be a hormone produced by the skin, stored in the liver, and released from there to act at a variety of sites in the body in particular at the small intestine to aid the absorption of calcium [ 11. Many hormones are considered to function via a “second messenger” [2] usually cyclic 3’,5’-adenosine monophosphate (cyclic ...

„Second messenger″ höherer Pflanzen / Second Messenger of Higher Plants
Cyclic mononucleotides − 2′,3′ cAMP and 2′,3′ cGMP − were found in several higher plants. They seem to be widespread, naturally occurring compounds. 2′ AMP, 3′ AMP, 2′ GMP and 3′ GMP, which were also isolated from several plants, are possibly artifacts of the cyclic nucleotides. In small amounts ApA was isolated from Abutilon grandiflorum, UpA and UpG

Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with
