Self-adjusting model predictive control for modular subsystems in HVAC systems

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract In order to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the building sector, an efficient control strategy, such as model predictive control (MPC) is required. However, MPC is rarely applied in buildings since the implementation and modeling is complex, time consuming and costly.

Communication constrained robust guidance strategy using quantized artificial time delay based control with input saturation

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This work proposes the use of a logarithmic quantizer to minimize the computational load on the onboard processor of missiles. The quantizer output discretizes the continuous guidance command to a finite set of predefined discrete levels.

Intelligent control of a single‐link flexible manipulator using sliding modes and artificial neural networks

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
This letter presents a new intelligent control scheme for the accurate trajectory tracking of flexible link manipulators. The proposed approach is mainly based on a sliding mode controller for underactuated systems with an embedded artificial neural ...

Model‐free linear active disturbance rejection output feedback control for electro‐hydraulic proportional system with unknown dead‐zone

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
Here, a model‐free linear active disturbance rejection controller (LADRC) integrating dead‐zone inverse compensation for an electro‐hydraulic proportional (EHP) system with an unknown dead‐zone is proposed.

Adaptive event‐triggered control of multi‐agent systems with state constraints and unknown disturbances

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
The leader‐following consensus problem of a class of non‐strict feedback multi‐agent systems with unknown disturbances, this paper develops a novel adaptive event‐triggered control strategy ground on the consideration of the full state constraints ...

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...
