Object-Oriented Semantic Mapping for Reliable UAVs Navigation [PDF]

open access: yes
To autonomously navigate in real-world environments, special in search and rescue operations, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) necessitate comprehensive maps to ensure safety.

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Deficits of semantic cognition in stroke aphasia: Underlying causes and ameliorating factors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Research suggests that semantic memory deficits can occur in at least three ways. Patients can (1) show amodal degradation of concepts within the semantic store itself, such as in semantic dementia (SD), (2) have an impairment of semantic control ...

Semantic SLAM with Multi-Modal Perception: Survey on Robust Long-Term Localization for Autonomous Vehicles

open access: yesRobotics
Long-term localization in dynamic and changing environments remains a key challenge for autonomous vehicles. Semantic Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) enhances traditional SLAM by integrating high-level semantic understanding, enabling robust

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Semantic-Based Multi-Object Search Optimization in Service Robots Using Probabilistic and Contextual Priors

open access: yesIEEE Access
In recent years, the demand for service robots capable of executing high-level tasks has grown. In the future, service robots will be expected to perform complex tasks like ‘Set table for dinner’.

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

A structured model metametadata technique to enhance semantic searching in metadata repository [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper discusses on a novel technique for semantic searching and retrieval of information about learning materials. A novel structured metametadata model has been created to provide the foundation for a semantic search engine to extract, match and ...
