A genome-wide association study on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation reveals novel genomic loci associated with transplant outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionData on genomic susceptibility for adverse outcomes after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for recipients are scarce.MethodsWe performed a genome wide association study (GWAS) to identify genes associated with survival/mortality,

CRISPLD2 Attenuates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Suppressing Oxidative Stress‐Induced Ferroptosis through the miR‐548I‐IL17A Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
This study identifies CRISPLD2 as a key protector against IVDD. By regulating ferroptosis through the CRISPLD2–miR‐548I–IL17A axis, CRISPLD2 maintains NPCs homeostasis and reduces oxidative stress. Restoring CRISPLD2 expression effectively alleviates disc degeneration and highlights a promising therapeutic strategy for discogenic low back pain ...

Treg cells retain stable lineage commitment during pregnancy in mice after late gestation inflammatory challenge

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, Volume 104, Issue 3, Page 276-311, March 2026.
In this study, we used Foxp3‐fatemapping mice to examine the cell lineage stability of Treg cells in pregnancy. Ex‐Foxp3 cells were identified in gestational tissues. However, Treg cells retained lineage stability with no increased ex‐Foxp3 generation, regardless of inflammatory challenges that induce preterm birth.

Human Atlas of Tooth Decay Progression: Identification of Cellular Mechanisms Driving the Switch from Dental Pulp Repair Toward Irreversible Pulpitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Tooth decay progression transforms the dental pulp response from repair to fibrosis. At early stages, stromal cells reprogram to repair the extra cellular matrix (ECM), blood vessels, and nerves, remodel and grow, keeping repair possible. In advanced decay, hypoxia, and vessel regression, in complement with an immune switch, fuel nerve degeneration and

Semaphorin 3C in prostate cancer tumourigenesis

open access: yes, 2018
Prostate cancer (PCa) is among the most commonly-occurring cancers worldwide and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men. Local non-invasive PCa is highly treatable but limited treatment options exist for those with locally-advanced and metastatic forms of the disease.

Multiomic single nuclei profiling the mouse hippocampus reveals that ACSS2 confers neuronal resilience to tauopathy

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Epigenomic dysregulation contributes to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related tauopathies. Acetyl‐CoA synthetase 2 (ACSS2), a nuclear‐localized metabolic enzyme in neurons, supports histone acetylation and learning‐related gene expression.

Increased prevalence of semaphorin 3C, a repellent of sympathetic nerve fibers, in the synovial tissue of patients with rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yes, 2004
Objective. The presence of selective sympathetic nerve repellents, i.e., semaphorins, may be responsible for the observed reduction of sympathetic innervation in the synovial tissue of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study was undertaken to

Nerve and Bone Interaction During Osseointegration by Investigating the Regulatory Roles of Neuronal Factors

open access: yes, 2023
Orthopaedic, spinal, or dental Implant performance can be hindered by various compromised diseases and certain medications. This study explores the role of neuronal factors in improving osseointegration by investigating nerve and bone interactions.

From Regeneration Failure to Functional Restoration: Unlocking the Neuronal‐Intrinsic Regenerative Capacity as a Therapeutic Frontier for Optic Neuropathy and Glaucoma

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 2, February 2026.
Optic neuropathy and glaucoma cause permanent visual deficits via retinal ganglion cell (RGC) loss and axon degeneration, affecting millions worldwide. Current treatments slow disease progression but cannot restore lost vision due to regeneration failure in adult RGCs.
