Silicon-mediated inactivation of semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 1995Abstract Several organosilicon amines were synthesized as potential mechanism-based inhibitors of semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) prepared from rat aorta. 2-[Dimethyl(2-phenylethyl)silyl]-methanamine, hydrochloride produced potent time-dependent inhibition of SSAO.

Semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidases in heart and bovine serum.
Neurobiology (Budapest, Hungary), 2000In guinea pig dorsal skin the semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) is localised in fibroblasts. Fibroblasts in culture lose the ability to express this enzymatic activity with doublings, thus suggesting that the SSAO expression needs some factors which are not present in the 10% bovine serum culture medium.
