Low-Quality Leadership in a Vertically Differentiated Duopoly with Cournot Competition [PDF]
We model a vertically differentiated duopoly with quantity-setting firms as an extended game in which firms noncooperatively choose the timing of moves at the quality stage, to show that at the subgame perfect equilibrium sequential play obtains, with ...

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.

IMPROVED FIRST PLAYER STRATEGY FOR THE ZERO-SUM SEQUENTIAL UNCROSSING GAME
This paper deals with the known uncrossing zero-sum two-player sequential game, which is employed to obtain upper running time bound for the transformation of an arbitrary subset family of some finite set to an appropriate laminar one.

A novel thermos‐responsive hydroxypropyl cellulose/graphene oxide (HPC/GO) composite membrane is fabricated for reversible temperature‐gated ion transport in aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. Enabled by LCST‐driven structural transition, unimpeded ion diffusion at room temperature delivers high capacity, while elevated temperature suppresses transport; full ...

Revisiting Strategic versus Non-Strategic Cooperation [PDF]
We use a novel experimental design to disentangle strategically- and non-strategically-motivated cooperation. By using contingent responses in a repeated sequential prisoners' dilemma with a known probabilistic end, we differentiate end-game behavior ...

Wage Bargaining in a Multiple Application Search Model with Recall [PDF]
In this paper I extend the multiple application urn-ball game structure, introduced by Gautier and Moraga-Gonzalez (2004) and Albrecht, Gautier, and Vroman (2006), to an scenario where firms can, after a rejection, make additional wage offers.

Pressure skin wounds are frequent complications after spinal cord injury (SCI), with impaired healing due to vascular and immune deficits. Elastin‐like polypeptides (ELP) fused to α‐MSH (MSH‐ELP) or MCP‐1 (MCP‐ELP) are developed and tested on these wounds. The resulting nanoparticles are non‐toxic and bioactive, and they enhance macrophage recruitment,

Contracts, Behavior, and the Land-Assembly Problem:An Experimental Study [PDF]
We use multilateral bargaining experiments to examine how the order of bargaining (simultaneous or sequential) and the nature of contracts (contingent or non-contingent) affect the duration of bargaining, the efficiency of exchange, and the distribution ...
