The biosynthesis of glycine and serine by isolated chloroplasts
Phytochemistry, 1970Abstract Chloroplasts were isolated non-aqueously from the leaves of 15-day-old pea plants. After sonication aqueous extracts were assayed for ability to synthesize glycine and serine. Such extracts were found to contain glyoxylate aminotransferase activity which was stimulated by addition of pyridoxal-5′-phosphate.
