Study on the shear performance of new type interpenetrating composite plate connector
A new kind of epoxy resin/foam nickel–iron plate connector is introduced. This kind of interpenetrating composite connector has approximate thermal insulation performance of the resin, good mechanical properties, and easy manufacture and production. This

DEFORMATION CAPACITY AND DUCTILITY OF SHEAR CONNECTORS
AbstractDeformation capacity and slip range (eventually called “ductility”) of shear connectors are key parameters for the design of shear connectors in composite beams, especially in partial shear connection. Existing design rules require a deformation capacity of at least 6 mm for the use of shear connectors with plastic design methods.

Numerical simulation of shear capacity of lightweight aggregate concrete stud connectors [PDF]
In order to study the mechanical properties of the stud connectors in lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC), the finite element software ABAQUS was used to establish the push test models of ordinary concrete and LWAC, respectively.

Shear Capacity of Demountable Shear Connectors
No Much of the environmental impact of buildings is associated with consumption of resources and generation of waste. The construction industry in Europe consumes over 70,000 million tonnes of a wide range of materials each year, and generates over 250 million tonnes of waste. Reducing waste is a priority for all the European Governments.

Design and experimental analysis of a new shear connector for steel and concrete composite structures [PDF]
This work presents the design of a new shear connector and the corresponding results obtained on push-out tests. This new shear connector consists on a steel rib with indented cut shape that provides resistance to longitudinal shear and prevents ...

Testing of continuous shear connector
Abstract Composite steel-concrete bridges are one of the most recent additions to the bridge science. By joining the two of the most commonly used materials it is possible to use their strengths combined. This was firstly presented for composite ceilings. It was assembled by encasing the whole I-beams into the concrete deck. Nowadays, it

Behaviour of Corroded Single Stud Shear Connectors [PDF]
In this study, the effect of corrosion on the static behavior of stud shear connectors was investigated. An innovative test setup for single stud shear connectors was designed and established. Two series of specimens having different stud diameters were fabricated and tested.

Research on the Shear Behaviour of Composite Shear Connectors
In order to make full use of the advantages of welded stud and perfobond rib shear connectors, a new type of composite shear connector is proposed. Studs are welded to the perforated steel plate of the PBL connectors. Six specimens were designed and tested to investigate the shear behaviour of the composite connectors.
