Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

In recent years, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) have been reported to play an important role in maintaining human health. Fecal SCFA concentrations correlate well with colonic SCFA status and gut microbiota composition. However, the associations with the gut microbiota functional pathway, dietary intake, blood SCFAs, and fecal SCFAs remain uncertain ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

After a 48-hour fast, the phospholipid fatty acids of rat diaphragm are reduced much more than the triglyceride fatty acids. Phospholipid thus appears to contribute more to the labile fatty acids than triglyceride.

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Effect of Fatty Acid Chain Length on Properties of Rice Starch-Fatty Acid Complexes
Rice starch-fatty acid complexes were prepared by compounding rice starch with different chain lengths of lauric acid (C12), myristic acid (C14), and palmitic acid (C16). By measuring the composite index, gelatinization properties, rheological properties,

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

The gut microbiota is closely related to human health, but mechanisms for the gut microbiota affects human health are not very clear. Short-chain fatty acids derived from the gut microbiota play an important role in immune regulation.

Glycerin Revalorization Using Anaerobic Digestion of Organic Waste
A novel process for the revalorization of glycerine from biodiesel production is proposed. Glycerol is converted to short chain oils by reaction with volatile fatty acids. The volatile fatty acids can be obtained from anaerobic digestion of organic waste
