Logistic Challenges in the Short Food Supply Chains
The aim of the Paper is to identify the types of short food supply chains (SFSCs), their spread today, and to demonstrate the advantages or disadvantages they provide, especially the logistical problems and solutions that can be identified in the chain.

Resilience of the Brazilian supply chains due to the impacts of Covid-19
Unprecedented challenges have been imposed on global markets to minimise losses in the short and long supply chains. The purpose of this paper is to identify the impacts created by the Covid-19 pandemic on the short and long supply chains in Brazil. This

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Examination of Short Supply Chains Based on Circular Economy and Sustainability Aspects
The sustainability of global food chains and intense agricultural production has become questionable. At the same time, the consumers’ interest in short supply chains (SSCs) and direct sales from producers has increased.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
