Is Sialyl Lewis x Antigen Expression a Prognostic Factor in Patients With Breast Cancer?

International Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2008
Sialyl Lewis x (sLe x ) carbohydrate antigen acts as an adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of cancer cells and is the most important ligand of the selectins present on endothelial cells.

Expression of nm23-H1 Gene and Sialyl Lewis X Antigen in Breast Cancer

Oncology, 1998
The nm23 gene has been proposed as a candidate tumor metastasis suppressor in some human cancers. Sialyl Lewis X (sLex) has been demonstrated to play an important role in the adhesion of human cancer cells to human vascular endothelium, inducing metastasis.

Circulating sialyl Lewis x , sialyl Lewis a , and sialyl Tn antigens in colorectal cancer patients: multivariate analysis of predictive factors for serum antigen levels

Journal of Gastroenterology, 2001
Preoperative serum levels of sialyl Lewis(a) (CA 19-9), sialyl Lewis(x) (SLX), and sialyl Tn (STN) antigens in colorectal cancer patients were examined to establish predictive factors for serum levels of these antigens compared with carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). A total of 308 patients who underwent resection for a colorectal cancer were divided into

Synthesis of Bisboronic Acids and Their Selective Recognition of Sialyl Lewis X Antigen

Chemical Research in Chinese Universities, 2018
The development of sensors that recognize Lewis oligosaccharides can help the diagnosis and early detection of cancer. Herein, we reported the design and synthesis of a series of anthracene-based bisboronic acids (9a—9e) with different N-substituents near the boronic acid unit.

Delayed Separation of the Umbilical Cord and Partial Deficiency of Sialyl Lewis X Antigen

Neonatology, 1999
A 5-week-old male infant presented with failure of separation of the umbilical cord. He was evaluated for the presence of integrin and selectin ligand leukocyte adhesion molecules on his neutrophils and monocytes. Integrin molecules appeared to be normally expressed, but expression of sialyl Lewis X (sLex) was decreased.

5 Nanosecond molecular dynamics and NMR study of conformational transitions in the sialyl-Lewis X antigen

Glycobiology, 1994
The range of internal motions of the sialyl Lewis-X (SLe(x)) tetrasaccharide (NeuNAc alpha 2-->3Gal beta 1-->4(Fuc alpha 1-->3)GlcNAc) [where Fuc is L-fucopyranose, Gal is D-galactopyranose, GlcNAc is 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose and NeuNAc is D-neuraminic acid (sialic acid)] was studied by restrained simulated annealing and restrained molecular
