Omnidirectional Interaction Networks Modulating Phenotypic Plasticity in the Gut Microbiota Towards Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a spouse‐pair cohort design and an idopNetwork model that integrates evolutionary game theory, predator‐prey dynamics, and developmental modularity theory to reconstruct maximally informative microbial interaction networks. This approach reveals how interspecies interactions drive the phenotypic plasticity of the gut microbiota in ...

Antioxidant activity of Cheddar cheese during its ripening time and after simulated gastrointestinal digestion as affected by probiotic bacteria

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Properties, 2019
The purpose of our study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum to Cheddar cheese on the antioxidant properties during its ripening time and after simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

Sonogenetic Control of Engineered Probiotics for the Treatment of MASH by Modulating the Gut‐Liver Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers developed an engineered probiotic encapsulated in an inulin hydrogel, enabling ultrasound‐triggered intestinal delivery of IL‐22. In MASH model mice, this system remodeled gut microbiota, strengthened the intestinal barrier and reduced portal LPS and hepatic IL‐6.

Lactate‐H3K18la‐RPL11 Axis Drives Gemcitabine Resistance in Pancreatic Cancer by Integrating Protein Synthesis and DNA Damage Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A lactate‐H3K18la epigenetic axis upregulates RPL11 to drive gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer. RPL11 orchestrates chemoresistance through a dual, compartmentalized role: enhancing cytoplasmic protein synthesis via EEF1A1 stabilization and promoting nuclear DNA damage repair by co‐activating PARP14, thus ensuring robust cell survival ...

Advancing Biotherapeutic Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis Using Lipid Mesophases: Formulation Design and Preclinical Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid mesophases provide a versatile platform for colon‐targeted delivery of biotherapeutics, protecting them from degradation while enhancing mucoadhesion and enabling localized, controlled release to the inflamed mucosa after oral or rectal administration. In a DSS‐induced colitis model, this strategy reduced disease activity, inflammatory biomarkers,

Rapid start-up of thermophilic anaerobic digestion with the turf fraction of MSW as inoculum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This study aims to determine suitable start-up conditions and inoculum sources for thermophilic anaerobic digestion. Within days of incubation MSW at 55°C, methane was produced at a high rate.

MicroRNA‐941 Acts as a Novel Prognostic Predictor and Oncogenic Driver in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Upregulation of miR‐941 was a promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for CRC patients. Inhibition of miR‐941 significantly suppressed CRC cellular events and triggered ferroptosis. The oncogenic functions of miR‐941 were mediated through targeting TRPS1.

Effects of Simulated Gastrointestinal Digestion on Antioxidant Activities of Individual and Mixed Fruits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Fruits are important part of dietary pattern and correlated with a lower risk of chronic diseases because they contain many natural antioxidants. The gastrointestinal digestion could affect on antioxidant activities of fruits.
