GzScenic: Automatic Scene Generation for Gazebo Simulator [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Testing robotic and cyberphysical systems in simulation require specifications of the simulated environments (i.e., scenes). The Scenic domain-specific language provides a high-level probabilistic programming language that allows users to specify scenarios for simulation. Scenic automatically generates concrete scenes that can be rendered by simulators.

Smart Grids Co-Simulations: Survey & Research Directions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The integration of renewable sources, communication and power networks with information and communication technologies is one of the main challenges in Smart Grids (SG) large-scale testing. For this reason, the coupling of simulators is commonly used to dynamically simulate several aspects of the SG infrastructure, in the so-called co-simulations.

The SIESTA method for ab initio order-N materials simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We have developed and implemented a selfconsistent density functional method using standard norm-conserving pseudopotentials and a flexible, numerical linear combination of atomic orbitals basis set, which includes multiple-zeta and polarization orbitals.

The chiral Hall effect in canted ferromagnets and antiferromagnets

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2021
The Hall effect is about the generation of a transverse voltage when a longitudinal current is applied and many mechanisms can lead to Hall effect in magnetic material. Here, the authors report a chiral Hall effect that is proportional to the vector spin
