Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Approximating trigonometric functions by using exponential inequalities
In this paper, some exponential inequalities are derived from the inequalities containing trigonometric functions. Numerical examples show that one can achieve much tighter bounds than those of prevailing methods, which are presented by Cusa, Huygens ...

Simulation modeling of the sensitivity analysis of differential effects of the intrinsic growth rate of a fish population: its implication for the selection of a local minimum [PDF]
The vulnerability of the differential effects of the intrinsic growth rates of the fish population on the uncertainty analysis can only be controlled by using the mathematical technique of a sensitivity analysis that is called a local minimum selection ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A novel Bayesian generative approach for estimating tumor dynamics from published studies
Tumor growth inhibition (TGI) modeling attempts to describe the time course changes in tumor size for patients undergoing cancer therapy. TGI models present several advantages over traditional exposure–response models that are based explicitly on ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

The role of primitive part modelling within an integrative simulation environment [PDF]
The component-based modeling approach to the simulation of HVAC systems has been in used for many years. The approach not only supports plant simulation but also allows the integration of the building and plant domains.
