A perception-driven exploration hierarchical simultaneous localization and mapping for mobile robots adapted to search and rescue environments

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
Perception-driven hierarchical simultaneous localization and mapping approach is proposed based on a distributed particle of percolator model adapted to search and rescue post-disaster environment.

Accurate Monocular Visual-Inertial SLAM Using a Map-Assisted EKF Approach

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents a novel tightly coupled monocular visual-inertial simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm, which provides accurate and robust motion tracking at high frame rates on a standard CPU.

Cross-scene loop-closure detection with continual learning for visual simultaneous localization and mapping

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2021
Humans maintain good memory and recognition capability of previous environments when they are learning about new ones. Thus humans are able to continually learn and increase their experience. It is also obvious importance for autonomous mobile robot. The

Network Uncertainty Informed Semantic Feature Selection for Visual SLAM

open access: yes, 2019
In order to facilitate long-term localization using a visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm, careful feature selection can help ensure that reference points persist over long durations and the runtime and storage complexity of the

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

C2VIR-SLAM: Centralized Collaborative Visual-Inertial-Range Simultaneous Localization and Mapping

open access: yesDrones, 2022
Collaborative simultaneous localization and mapping have a great impact on various applications such as search-and-rescue and agriculture. For each agent, the key to performing collaboration is to measure the motion relative to other participants or ...

UcoSLAM: Simultaneous Localization and Mapping by Fusion of KeyPoints and Squared Planar Markers

open access: yes, 2019
This paper proposes a novel approach for Simultaneous Localization and Mapping by fusing natural and artificial landmarks. Most of the SLAM approaches use natural landmarks (such as keypoints).

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Online Spatial Concept and Lexical Acquisition with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we propose an online learning algorithm based on a Rao-Blackwellized particle filter for spatial concept acquisition and mapping. We have proposed a nonparametric Bayesian spatial concept acquisition model (SpCoA).
