Single-Crystal-to-Single-Crystal Transformation of Diolefin Derivatives in Nanocrystals
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2002Topochemical [2 + 2] cycloaddition polymerization of methyl p-phenylenediacrylate and 2,5-distyrylpyridine in nanocrystals, prepared by the reprecipitation method, were investigated in comparison with those in bulk crystals. The bulk single crystals, larger than 1 mum in size, broke into microcrystals with variety of size and shape in the course of ...

Reversible single-crystal to single-crystal polymorphic phase transformation of an organic crystal
Chemical Communications, 2010Two polymorphs of a substituted dihydroanthracene derivative were prepared by crystallization from different solvents. Each polymorph is reversibly interconvertible to the other by means of a single-crystal to single-crystal phase transformation.

A series of Cu(II) complexes showed unprecedented reversible cascades of single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) transformations, and more interestingly, very rapid crystal dynamic processes were observed in this system via the substitution of coordinating components without loss of single crystallinity.

We report here a new polymorph of cocrystal CuQ2-TCNQ that shows an oriented single-crystal-to-single-crystal phase transition along its a-axis at ambient conditions. Upon mechanical stimulation, it converts into another polymorph accompanied by almost doubling its length and halving its thickness.

AbstractSingle‐chain single crystals of isotactic polystyrene and poly(ethylene oxide) were studied by using transmission electron microscopy, high resolution electron microscopy, electron diffraction. Single‐chain single crystals were prepared by spreading a dilute solution of polymers on a water surface and collecting the resulting single‐chain ...

Ultraviolet luminescence of single crystals and single-crystal films of YAlO3
Optics and Spectroscopy, 2004The nature of intrinsic emission bands of yttrium orthoaluminate in the UV spectral region at max=220 nm (5.63 eV) and 330 nm (4.13 eV) is studied on the basis of the luminescence of single crystals and single-crystal films of YAlO3 and Ce: YAlO3 excited by synchrotron radiation sources with an energy of 3–25 eV at 9 and 300 K.

Exciton luminescence of YAlO3 single crystals and single-crystal films
Optics and Spectroscopy, 2005The paper reports on a study of exciton luminescence in single crystals (SCs) and single-crystal films (SCFs) of YAlO3, which have substantially different concentrations of vacancy-type and substitutional defects, under excitation by synchrotron radiation near the fundamental absorption edge.

Single‐molecule single crystals
Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 1991AbstractVarious approaches to the preparation and verification of single‐molecule single crystals are discussed for polyethylene and poly (oxyethylene). Analytic tools are electron microscopy, electron diffraction, and differential scanning calorimetry.

Single‐Crystal‐to‐Single‐Crystal Synthesis of a Rope‐Ladder Polymer
Angewandte ChemieAbstract Here, we report a single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SCSC) synthesis of a fully organic ladder polymer via a topochemical azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (TAAC) reaction. A designed monomer featuring a rigid benzene core with flexible peptide‐linked azide and alkyne groups crystallized with three conformers in the asymmetric unit ...
