Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Singular-phase nanooptics: towards label-free single molecule detection
Non-trivial topology of phase is crucial for many important physics phenomena such as, for example, the Aharonov-Bohm effect 1 and the Berry phase 2. Light phase allows one to create "twisted" photons 3, 4 , vortex knots 5, dislocations 6 which has led ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Singularities of Partially Polarized Vortex Beams
Singularities in the polarization state of non-uniform electromagnetic beams have been a topic of both theoretical and practical interest for many years, as have singularities in the correlation functions of random scalar wavefields.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Fiber-based mode converter for generating optical vortex beams
In this work, an all-fiber-based mode converter for generating orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams is proposed and numerically investigated. Its structure is constructed by cascading a mode selective coupler (MSC) and an inner elliptical cladding fiber (

Generation and Propagation of Partially Coherent Power-Exponent-Phase Vortex Beam
We report on a partially coherent power-exponent-phase vortex beam (PC-PEPV), whose spatial coherence is controllable and the initial phase exhibits a periodic power exponential change.

Reflections on Gibbs: From Statistical Physics to the Amistad [PDF]
This note is based upon a talk given at a celebration in Austin Texas of the achievements of J. Willard Gibbs. J. Willard Gibbs, the younger, was the first American physical sciences theorist. He was one of the inventors of statistical physics.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Complex optical solutions and modulation instability of hyperbolic Schrödinger dynamical equation
Complex hyperbolic Schrödinger equation describes ultra-short pulse propagation in nonlinear media fiber optics. In this paper, new complex solutions for the complex hyperbolic Schrödinger equation are constructed using generalized elliptic equation ...
