Role of acetylation in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: a focus on SIRT1 and SIRT3

open access: yesExploration of Medicine, 2020
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become the most prevalent liver chronic disease worldwide. The pathogenesis of NAFLD is complex and involves many metabolic enzymes and multiple pathways.

Decreased Serum Sirtuin-1 in COPD [PDF]

open access: yesChest, 2017
The protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) is an antiaging molecule that is decreased in the lung in patients with COPD. Recently, SIRT1 was reported to be detectable in serum, but serum SIRT1 (s120S) levels have not yet been reported in patients with COPD.Serum SIRT1 protein of all samples was measured by Western blot, and the SIRT1 protein band ...

Phospholipase D2 is a positive regulator of sirtuin 1 and modulates p53-mediated apoptosis via sirtuin 1 [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental & Molecular Medicine, 2021
AbstractSirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-dependent histone deacetylase that plays diverse physiological roles. However, little is known about the regulation of SIRT1 activity. Here, we show that phospholipase D2 (PLD2), but not PLD1, selectively interacts with SIRT1 and increases the deacetylase activity of SIRT1.
