NRPT 1X reduces ALT and ceramide 14:0 in 65% of subjects as compared to only 28% in the placebo group. Abstract Background and Aims The prevalence of NAFLD is increasing globally and on a path to becoming the most frequent cause of chronic liver disease. Strategies for the prevention and treatment of NAFLD are urgently needed.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

The role of Sirtuin1-PPARγ axis in placental development and function. [PDF]
Placental development is important for proper in utero growth and development of the fetus, as well as maternal well-being during pregnancy. Abnormal differentiation of placental epithelial cells, called trophoblast, is at the root of multiple pregnancy ...

Sirtuin 1 ve Sirtuin 2’nin Tip 2 Diyabet ile İlişkisi
Diabetes mellitus is the most common endocrine disease in the world and in all age groups. Type 2 diabetes is a disease that constitutes approximately 80-90% of diabetes cases and typically occurs in advanced ages. The pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes is quite complex and is still a matter of debate in many aspects.

Autophagosome marker, LC3, is released extracellularly via several distinct pathways
This study establishes a novel HiBiT‐tagging system for ultrasensitive detection of LC3, revealing multiple pathways for its extracellular secretion. It demonstrates that LC3 is released via both autophagy‐dependent and ‐independent mechanisms, including a novel route for nonlipidated LC3‐I.

SIRT4 positively regulates autophagy via ULK1, but independently of HDAC6 and OPA1
Cells expressing SIRT4 (H161Y), a catalytically inactive mutant of the sirtuin SIRT4, fail to upregulate LC3B‐II and exhibit a reduced autophagic flux under stress conditions. Interestingly, SIRT4(H161Y) promotes phosphorylation of ULK1 at S638 and S758 that are associated with inhibition of autophagy initiation.

Sirtuins, bioageing, and cancer [PDF]
The Sirtuins are a family of orthologues of yeast Sir2 found in a wide range of organisms from bacteria to man. They display a high degree of conservation between species, in both sequence and function, indicative of their key biochemical roles. Sirtuins
