Polymerase-endonuclease amplification reaction for large-scale enzymatic production of antisense oligonucleotide [PDF]
Synthetic oligonucleotides are contaminated with highly homologous failure sequences. Oligonucleotide synthesis is difficult to scale up because it requires expensive equipments, hazardous chemicals, and tedious purification process.

Comparison between VS30 and other estimates of site amplification in Italy [PDF]
During 5 microzonation projects in Italy, we had access to 46 estimates of Vs30 (30 obtained with down-hole or cross-hole measurements, plus 10 velocity profiles obtained with surface techniques, 6 sites were considered A without drilling, being rock ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Assessment dynamic ratio for traffic loading on highway bridges [PDF]
The determination of characteristic bridge load effect is a complex problem. Usually, statistical extrapolation of simulated static load effects is used to derive a lifetime characteristic static load effect.

Re-thinking site amplification in regional seismic risk assessment [PDF]
Probabilistic assessment of seismic hazard and risk over a geographical region presents the modeler with challenges in the characterization of the site amplification that are not present in site-specific assessment.

Amplification factors are often estimated using empirical methods based on earthquake ground motion; however, especially in low-seismicity urban areas, recording a statistically representative number of high-quality signals may take years.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
