Emerin increase in regenerating muscle fibers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2009
The fate of emerin during skeletal muscle regeneration was investigated in an animal model by means of crush injury. Immunofluorescence, immunoblotting and mRNA analysis demonstrated that emerin level is increased in regenerating rat muscle fibers with ...

Autologous transplantation of adipose-derived stem cells improves functional recovery of skeletal muscle without direct participation in new myofiber formation

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2018
Background Skeletal muscle has a remarkable regenerative capacity. However, extensive damage that exceeds the self-regenerative ability of the muscle can lead to irreversible fibrosis, scarring, and significant loss of function.

ERK‐Mediated Phosphorylation of YAP Defines a Noncanonical FGF Signaling Mechanism in Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
With a powerful combination of in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models, the authors highlight a novel FGF‐ERK signaling regulation of YAP at the S128 site in neural crest‐derived stem cells. This study opens exciting new directions in stem cell biology and craniofacial biology, paving the way for potential innovations in the treatment of craniofacial ...

Time‐Controlled Refrigerated Stem Cell Therapy Mitigates Scleroderma Fibrosis via Modulation of Mitochondrial Autophagy and Gut Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

ZDHHC9‐Mediated Palmitoylation of ACSL4 Drives Ferroptosis in Diabetes Mellitus–Induced Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a highly prevalent complication among diabetic patients; however, its underlying pathogenic mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Metabolic disorder is a hallmark of diabetes, yet its precise contribution to DMED progression is not well defined.

Development of a Novel Device for the Perfusion Driven Decellularization of Skeletal Muscle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Decellularization of skeletal muscle is a process that removes cellular components of skeletal muscle tissue while leaving behind the intact extracellular matrix (ECM).

Distinct Immunomodulatory Strategies Guide Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cell‐Mediated Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone regeneration by mesenchymal stem cells is strongly influenced by immune signals. This study shows that priming stem cells with regulatory immune cells or an inflammation‐resolving lipid molecule enhances bone formation through distinct immune pathways.
