Self-Renewal of the Adult Skeletal Muscle Satellite Cell [PDF]
The concept of the stem cell has evolved in dynamic systems such as those involved in embryonic development and, in the adult, in tissues such as blood and skin which are continuously renewed. It has proved difficult to establish whether stem cell mechanisms underlie the maintenance of the more stable tissues that form the majority of the adult body ...

Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,

Schematic illustration of a tumor microenvironment‐responsive nanoreactor for imaging‐guided induction of disulfidptosis in pancreatic cancer via metabolic interference and redox catalysis. (A) Stepwise fabrication of Pht@HMnO2‐HA, including MnO2 growth on a SiO2 template, template removal to form hollow mesoporous MnO2, Pht loading, and subsequent ...

Estrogen Regulates the Satellite Cell Compartment in Females
Summary: Skeletal muscle mass, strength, and regenerative capacity decline with age, with many measures showing a greater deterioration in females around the time estrogen levels decrease at menopause.

An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

Globular adiponectin activates motility and regenerative traits of muscle satellite cells. [PDF]
Regeneration of adult injured skeletal muscle is due to activation of satellite cells, a population of stem cells resident beneath the basal lamina. Thus, information on soluble factors affecting satellite cell activation, as well as migration towards ...

ROS‐Responsive H2S Hydrogel (HAPPF) Coordinated Regeneration for High‐Quality Diabetic Wound Repair.A self‐regulating dynamic hydrogel is developed to deliver a fluorogenic H2S donor in response to excessive ROS. Released H2S acts as a master regulator to resolve chronic inflammation (M2 polarization), restore VEGF‐driven angiogenesis, and rebalance ...

A rigid‑flexible integrated CO depot is engineered by embedding rigid COFQDs into a flexible ECM gel network. The rigid framework enables high‑capacity CO storage and sonodynamic bacterial killing, while the flexible ECM gel controls sustained CO release, collectively eradicating multidrug‑resistant infection and promoting scarless healing.
