Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Output feedback sliding mode control based on adaptive sliding mode disturbance observer

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2022
In this paper, an adaptive sliding mode disturbance observer is designed to counteract the disturbance actively. By designing the adaptive laws, the assumptions on the disturbance are relaxed in the proposed observer, its first derivative upper bound is ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Iterative sliding mode control strategy of robotic arm based on fractional calculus

open access: yesJournal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation, 2021
In order to improve the control performance of industrial robotic arms, an efficient fractional-order iterative sliding mode control method is proposed by combining fractional calculus theory with iterative learning control and sliding mode control.

Application of MPC and sliding mode control to IFAC benchmark models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The comparison of Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Sliding Mode Control (SMC) are presented in this paper. This paper investigates the performance of each controller as the navigation system for IFAC benchmark ship models (cargo vessel and oil tanker)

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Multirate Output Feedback based Frequency Shaped Sliding Mode Control

open access: yes, 2006
This paper proposes a design of frequency shaped sliding mode controller using fast output sampling technique. A compensator is introduced in the sliding surface to attenuate the frequency component of the sliding mode dynamics so that the unmodelled ...
