Disturbance Observer-Based Discrete Sliding-Mode Control for a Marine Diesel Engine with Variable Sampling Control Technique

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2020
This paper proposes a disturbance observer-based discrete sliding-mode control scheme with the variable sampling rate control for the marine diesel engine speed control in the presence of system uncertainties and disturbances.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

An observer design for active suspension system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The purpose of this paper is to construct an active suspension for a quarter car model with observer design. The proportional-integral sliding mode is chosen as a control strategy, and the road profile is estimated by using an observer design.

Sliding Mode Observer for Multicell Converters

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2001
This paper deals with the observation of the capacitor voltages in multi cell converters using sliding-mode techniques with only the measurement of the load current and the input voltage. Our aim is to develop a sensorless control scheme of these converters in order to reduce the cost and encumbrance.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Disturbance attenuation–based sliding mode control with disturbance observer for mismatched uncertain system

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
A disturbance attenuation–based sliding mode control approach with an extended disturbance observer is proposed for systems with mismatched uncertainties. A novel adaptive sliding surface consisting of the disturbance estimation is presented to eliminate

Sliding modes in power electronics and motion control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In the paper the general approach to motion control systems in the sliding mode framework is discussed in details. It has been shown that, due to the fact that a motion control system with n d.o.f may be mathematically formulated in a unique way as a ...
