A Non‐Canonical Role of SMAD4 in Regulating 3D Genome Architecture to Inhibit Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 47, 24 August 2026.
SMAD4 is identified as a guardian of 3D genome architecture in lung squamous cell carcinoma. Loss of SMAD4 unleashes EP300 at chromatin loop anchors, strengthening enhancer–promoter looping and H3K27ac at the SOX2 locus to drive aberrant SOX2 activation and tumor cell proliferation.

The Dynamic Alliance of p53 and Metabolism in the Tumor Microenvironment Shapes Tumor Evolution

open access: yesBioEssays, Volume 48, Issue 8, August 2026.
p53 is an adaptive processor positioned at the interface between metabolism and the tumor microenvironment. By integrating nutrient, mechanical, inflammatory, and redox cues while reciprocally remodeling metabolism, stromal and immune compartments, and cancer cell plasticity, WT and mutant p53 orchestrate cell competition, tumor evolution, metastasis ...

MicroRNAs in Spinal Cord Injury: Molecular and Translational Insights

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) modulate secondary injury cascades following spinal cord injury (SCI), including inflammation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, and demyelination. Key miRNAs such as miR‐21, miR‐124, miR‐219, and miR‐223 exert neuroprotective effects by regulating astrocytic response, axon regeneration, and remyelination.

From scarring to healing: Emerging regenerative therapies for pulmonary fibrosis using MSCs and exosomes

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
MSCs exert anti‐inflammatory, anti‐fibrotic and regenerative effects in pulmonary fibrosis. MSC‐derived exosomes reproduce many therapeutic benefits of parental MSCs. Preconditioning and genetic modification improve MSC therapeutic performance. Current preclinical and clinical evidence supports the translational potential of MSC‐based therapies ...

Effects of Naringenin on Diabetic Nephropathy: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Rodent Studies

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Naringenin produces comprehensive renoprotective effects in rodent models of diabetic nephropathy. It mainly lowers blood sugar and alleviates renal dysfunction by reducing proteinuria, serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen. Meanwhile, naringenin improves antioxidant status by elevating glutathione and reducing malondialdehyde, and suppresses ...
