This study designs a novel mRNA‐LNP vaccine targeting VZV glycoprotein E (gE) for herpes zoster via an AI‐assisted pipeline. Validated in mice and rhesus macaques, the mRNA‐LNP vaccine shows strong humoral and cellular immune responses, with CD4+ T‐cell responses more effective and durable than Shingrix, offering a promising prophylactic option ...

The snoRNA box C/D motif directs nucleolar targeting and also couples snoRNA synthesis and localization [PDF]
Most small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) fall into two families, known as the box C/D and box H/ACA snoRNAs. The various box elements are essential for snoRNA production and for snoRNA-directed modification of rRNA nucleotides. In the case of the box C/D snoRNAs, boxes C and D and an adjoining stem form a vital structure, known as the box C/D motif.

Snord17, through interaction with Thoc3, promotes nuclear export and translation of Yy2 mRNA in Snord17+/+ ISCs. The Yy2 protein subsequently binds the Tead4 promoter to promote its transcription, activating Hippo signaling, which is essential for ISC maintenance.

Network of epistatic interactions within a yeast snoRNA [PDF]
Epistasis and mutational fitness landscapeA fitness landscape of a gene defines the molecular potential of evolution. This can help us understand the current state of evolution as well as predict unrealized potential. Using deep sequencing to examine mutations in nonessential genes that affect the growth of yeast strains, two studies have generated ...

ABSTRACT Immune homeostasis is indispensable for preserving organismal integrity, orchestrated through complex molecular networks encompassing immune cell dynamics, microbial cues, and epigenetic regulation. Among these, the gut microbiota‐non‐coding RNA (ncRNA) axis has recently garnered substantial attention as a multifaceted modulator of host ...

Maize Anther Development Involves Translated Open Reading Frames From 3′ Untranslated Regions
This study examined the translation activity across ten stages of maize anther development, integrating transcriptome and small‐peptide data. It linked mutations in translated 3' ORFs to anther sterility, exemplified by Zm00001eb417050_3' ORF (known as APV1). In addition, the data indicated that maize anthers could assimilate CO2 through the stomata in

Expression and processing of a small nucleolar RNA from the Epstein-Barr virus genome. [PDF]
Small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) are localized within the nucleolus, a sub-nuclear compartment, in which they guide ribosomal or spliceosomal RNA modifications, respectively. Up until now, snoRNAs have only been identified in eukaryal and archaeal genomes,

snoRNA-facilitated protein secretion revealed by transcriptome-wide snoRNA target identification
Small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) are non-coding RNAs known for guiding RNA modifications, including 2'-O-methylation (Nm) and pseudouridine (Ψ). While snoRNAs may also interact with other RNAs, such as mRNA, the full repertoire of RNAs targeted by snoRNA remains elusive due to the lack of effective technologies that identify snoRNA targets transcriptome ...
