Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Social network analysis for judgment aggregation

open access: yesInternational Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, 2014
The majority of work in judgment aggregation is devoted to the study of impossibility results. However the (social) dependencies that may exist between the voters has received less attention. In this extended abstract we use the degree centrality measure from social network analysis and obtain a correspondence between the average voter rule and this ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

A Multiplex Approach to the Analysis of Knowledge Networks

open access: yes, 2010
Evidence shows that knowledge transfer from research institutions and/or from universities contributes to local innovation processes in a variety of ways. Several studies have emphasized that the extent of innovation diffusion is strongly affected by the

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Social network analysis to study social capital and development

open access: yes, 2009
It is widely recognised that individuals with high social capital are important in either promoting or acting as inhibitors to the diffusion of knowledge and information.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Comparing the Diagnostic Performance of [18F]PSMA‐1007 With [68Ga]Ga‐PSMA‐11 in PET/CT Imaging and Staging of Recurrent Prostate Cancer

open access: yesMedicine Advances
PET/CT has become the reference standard imaging modality for diagnosing prostate cancer because of its ability to target prostate‐specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein specific to prostate cells.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
