Effects of Added Dietary Sodium Chloride on Heart Size and Weight in Chicks
Abstract In an attempt to determine the effect of sodium chloride on chickens when fed at levels higher than those commonly recommended, some interesting effects on the hearts were noted. In this trial 100 twenty-five-day-old Peterson-White Rock cross chicks were used. The experiment was terminated after 10 days.

Dietary sodium chloride and potassium have effects on the pathophysiology of hypertension in humans and animals [PDF]
A diet high in NaCl can raise blood pressure in susceptible people and animals, probably by similar mechanisms. The possibly harmful effects of a high-NaCl diet are not unexpected because both prehistoric humans and mammals evolved in a low-NaCl environment.

Effect of sodium restriction on blood pressure of unstable or uncontrolled hypertensive patients in primary care [PDF]
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The aims of the present study are: 1) to quantify sodium consumption of patients with unstable or uncontrolled hypertension, 2) to investigate if reduced sodium intake can lower BP in these patients, and 3), to assess the ...

ABSTRACT This study evaluated the preservative potential of essential oils (EOs) in bakery products by identifying fungal contaminants in bread, testing the in vitro antifungal activity of a mixture of cinnamon, clove, and bay leaf EOs, and assessing their effectiveness in extending shelf life. Fungal identification revealed the presence of Penicillium,

Phenolic Compounds From Myrcia tijucensis: Insights Into Antioxidant and Antidiabetic Activities
ABSTRACT The genus Myrcia from the Myrtaceae family contains species with therapeutic properties, such as reducing glycemia and oxidative stress. This study investigated the effects of the hydroalcoholic extract of Myrcia tijucensis in an animal model of Type 1 diabetes induced by alloxan.

SummaryThe incidence of aortic ruptures in turkeys induced by injection of DES in a liquid form was modified by dietary composition including high NaCl levels. Diethylstil-bestrol injections also caused hyperproteinemia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipemia and lowered blood pressure. High NaCl diets did not affect blood pressure. The technical assistance

The Aging Gut–Brain Axis: Effects of Dietary Polyphenols and Metal Exposure
The influence of gut microbiota on brain health ABSTRACT Diet provides essential metals, which are required for the growth, development, and well‐functioning of the body. Nonetheless, some natural and human activities add toxic heavy metals to the diet, consequently introducing them to our bodies, resulting in several disorders and death. The intestine,

Abstract Analysis of triacylglycerol (TG) and phospholipid sn‐positional isomers can be divided into two main categories: (a) direct separation by chromatography or other means such as ion mobility mass spectrometry and (b) quantification of regioisomer ratios by structurally informative fragment ions with mass spectrometric methods.
