ABSTRACT Lithium‐selenium (Li‐Se) batteries have attracted considerable attention due to their high theoretical specific capacity and the intrinsically good electronic conductivity of selenium. Nevertheless, low active‐material utilization, parasitic side reactions, and sluggish reaction kinetics hinder their practical application.

Temporary alleviation of MAPK by arbutin alleviates oxidative damage in the retina and ARPE-19 cells
Dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the main diseases that causes blindness in humans, and the number of cases is increasing yearly. However, effective treatments are unavailable, and arbutin (ARB) has been reported to have antioxidant ...

Protective Effect of Hydrogen on Sodium Iodate-Induced Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Mice
Oxidative stress is one of the main causes of AMD. Hydrogen has anti-oxidative stress and apoptotic effects on retinal injury. However, the effect of hydrogen on AMD is not clear.

Effect of Sodium Iodate Injection on the Development of Galactose Cataract in the Rat
The effect of sodium iodate injection on the development of galactose cataract in the rat was investigated clinically and biochemically. Galactose cataracts were induced in animals which had been injected with a single dose of sodium iodate and compared with those given a saline injection.

Assessment of iodine concentration in dietary salt at household level in Morocco
Background Following WHO recommendations, Morocco adopted in 1995 the universal salt iodization (USI) as a strategy to prevent and control iodine deficiency disorders. In 2009, the standard salt iodine concentration was adjusted to 15–40 mg/kg.

Determination of Epinephrine Using Sodium Iodate in Chemiluminescence
Epinephrine was determined using a lab-made chemiluminescence (CL) system with air pump. Luminol-sodium IO 4 - chemiluminescence system was employed to produce the luminescence of epinephrine. In the reaction, epinephrine was oxidized to produce superoxide or singlet oxygen by periodate in alkaline solution, which enhanced CL of luminol.
