The significance of sodium in the preference for saccharin solutions [PDF]
To test a report that the sodium in the soluble form of saccharin played a significant metabolic role in maintaining saccharin preference, rats were given either tap water, saccharin or a Na-saccharin solution. When satiated, the consumption rate of Na-saccharin was highest with no difference in water and saccharin consumption.

Toward Sustainable Carbonylation Reactions Enabled by CO Surrogates in Green Solvents
Carbonylation reactions offer a sustainable route to valuable carbonyl compounds. This review highlights methodologies that exploit carbonylative coupling to drastically enhance process sustainability, avoiding the direct use of CO through CO surrogates and promoting syntheses in green solvents potentially derived from renewable and sustainable sources.

Engineering MnNiPx cathodes through the dual role of Mn simultaneously improves hydrogen evolution reaction activity and intermittent‐operation durability. Mn preferentially oxidizes to protect Ni–P sites from irreversible oxidation, while metallic Mn incorporation enhances the HER kinetics of Ni–P active layer.

Time-quality tracking of monosodium glutamate, sodium saccharin, and a citric acid-saccharin mixture
The temporal patterns of taste-quality descriptors evoked by 1000-ms duration stimulus liquids flowed through a closed delivery system over the anterodorsal tongue tip region were indicated using touch-typing on a computer keyboard. Single keys corresponded to the taste words of a 23 item code. A computer monitor displayed for subjects the keys pressed
