EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Analysis of Software Aging in a Web Server [PDF]

open access: yes
A number of recent studies have reported the phenomenon of “software aging”, characterized by progressive performance degradation and/or an increased occurrence rate of hang/crash failures of a software system due to the exhaustion of operating system ...

Comparative Analysis of 16 Aging Concepts and Their Influence on Aging Narratives: Bibliometric and Content Analysis

open access: yesJMIR Aging
BackgroundGlobally, various aging concepts (such as healthy aging, successful aging, and active aging) have emerged to promote the goal of “aging well” and have gained widespread attention in academia, policy, and practice to change the negative ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Aging of Black Women: Reflections Based on Listening to Their Protagonists [PDF]

open access: yesPsicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa
Studying the older, black, and female population implies the need to understand their experiences, as aging is not a universally uniform process. This article aims to investigate the social representations constructed by older black women, residents of ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Investigating Software Aging in LLM-Generated Software Systems

open access: yes2025 IEEE 36th International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering Workshops (ISSREW)
Automatically generated software, especially code produced by Large Language Models (LLMs), is increasingly adopted to accelerate development and reduce manual effort. However, little is known about the long-term reliability of such systems under sustained execution.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Retrofitting enables sustainability, Industry 4.0 connectivity, and improved usability

open access: yesAdvances in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Retrofitting is a sustainable approach to improving the capabilities and extending the life of aging machine tools. Reusing the mechanical construction and replacing only the control electronics and software is a viable option to upgrade an aging machine
