A Blockchain Approach to Extract Design Patterns From Source Codes

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering
Design patterns are an effective technique for software development. However, lacking suitable documents often reduces traceability, and advantages remain unclear in source lines of code (SLOC).

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Business model driven service architecture design for enterprise application integration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Increasingly, organisations are using Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) as an approach to Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), which is required for the automation of business processes.

On the Impact of Aspectual Decompositions on Design Stability: An Empirical Study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
. Although one of the main promises of aspect-oriented (AO) programming techniques is to promote better software changeability than object-oriented (OO) techniques, there is no empirical evidence on their efficacy to prolong design stability in realistic

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Component-based tool for verifying applications using object-oriented patterns

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2002
Applying design patterns is considered a helpful technique for designing software systems. Patterns description, however, results not sufficiently precise providing a weak understanding and making it difficult to be certain when a pattern is being used ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Dark Patterns in the Design of Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Game designers are typically regarded as advocates for players. However, a game creator’s interests may not align with the players’. We examine some of the ways in which those opposed interests can manifest in a game’s design.

Accessibility and adaptability of learning objects: responding to metadata, learning patterns and profiles of needs and preferences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The case for learning patterns as a design method for accessible and adaptable learning objects is explored. Patterns and templates for the design of learning objects can be derived from successful existing learning resources.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
