7 Dimensions of software change patterns

open access: yesScientific Reports
Evolving software is a highly complex and creative problem in which a number of different strategies are used to solve the tasks at hand. These strategies and reoccurring coding patterns can offer insights into the process.

Tree Slicing in Clone Detection: Syntactic Analysis Made (Semi)-Semantic

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2015
Nowadays most of software contains code duplication that leads to serious problems in software maintenance. A lot of different clone detection approaches have been proposed over the years to deal with this problem, but almost all of them do not consider ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

A Framework for Patterns in Gaia: A case-study with Organisations

open access: yes, 2004
The agent-oriented approach has been successfully applied to the solution of complex problems in dynamic open environments. However, to extend its use to mainstream computing and industrial environments, appropriate software tools are needed.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Degrees of tenant isolation for cloud-hosted software services: a cross-case analysis

open access: yesJournal of Cloud Computing: Advances, Systems and Applications, 2018
A challenge, when implementing multi-tenancy in a cloud-hosted software service, is how to ensure that the performance and resource consumption of one tenant does not adversely affect other tenants.

Defect patterns and structural properties in a mature well-specified software system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Software engineering is not an empirically based discipline. As a result, many of its practices are based on little more than a generally agreed feeling that something may be true.

Patterns for extracting high level information from bug reports

open access: yes, 2022
S.29-31Bug reports record tasks performed by users and developers while collaborating to resolve bugs. Such data can be transformed into higher level information that helps data scientists understand various aspects of the team's development process.

Patterns of User Involvement in Experiment-Driven Software Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Background: Experiments are often used as a means to continuously validate user needs and to aid in making software development decisions. Involving users in the development of software products benefits both the users and companies.
