Solubility enhancement and solid-state characterisation [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceutical Development and Technology, 2018
The concept of “molecular inflation”1, where the molecular weight of patented and marketed drugs is increasing (as is their molecular complexity), is now demonstrated to be a reality.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Effect of different maturation methods on silver banana quality / Efeito de diferentes métodos de maturação sobre a qualidade da banana prata

open access: yesDiversitas Journal, 2019
The marketable banana fruit is climatic and therefore has a short maturation period, which means shorter shelf life. Properly stored storage becomes of great value so that such transformations do not harm the commercialization of fruit.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

The Rheological Behavior of Polysaccharides from Mulberry Leaves (Morus alba L.)

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
In this study, mulberry leaves polysaccharides (MLPs) namely HBSS (extracted with hot buffer soluble solids), CHSS (extracted with chelating agent soluble solids), DASS (extracted with diluted alkali soluble solids), and CASS (extracted with concentrated

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Number of replicates required to accurately evaluate the productivity and soluble solids in melon hybrids of the Inodorus group

open access: yesActa Scientiarum. Agronomy, 2023
Determining the number of replicates required to produce statistically testable results based on previously conducted tests is important to minimize labor costs via the use of existing information.

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...
