Delta‐Cell Area is Unchanged in Human Pregnancy: Evidence From Immunohistochemistry

open access: yesBiology of the Cell, Volume 118, Issue 5, May 2026.
Pancreatic δ‐cell area is unchanged in human pregnancy despite well‐described expansion of α‐ and β‐cell populations. Using whole‐slide quantitative immunohistochemistry, we show that δ‐cell area and islet architecture remain stable, highlighting the selective nature of endocrine cell plasticity in the maternal pancreas. ABSTRACT Aim Pancreatic islet δ‐

Novel drugs approved by the EMA, the FDA and the MHRA in 2025: A year in review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 9, Page 1779-1813, May 2026.
Abstract In the 2025 novel drug mini‐review, one can take a full measure of the ingenuity that underlies current drug design and development, despite the year's smaller harvest (46 novel drugs) compared to 2024 (53) and 2023 (70). 54% of the novel drugs are first‐in‐class (FIC).

Review: “The Disappointment Dilemma: Short‐ and Long‐Term Learning From Negative Outcomes”

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 9, May 2026.
The habenula routes negative‐outcome signals to VTA, RMTg, and IPN to shape aversive learning and motivation. The lateral habenula encodes acute negative prediction errors to rapidly adapt behavior to threat, fear, and avoidance. The medial habenula integrates repeated stress, drug, and aversive experiences into long‐term negative mood and expectations.

Phosphohistone H3 and Ki‐67 as prognostic markers in metastatic small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours: A comparative, retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Ki‐67 index and mitotic count form the basis of grading of small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours (siNET). We hypothesized that the mitosis‐specific marker phosphohistone H3 (PHH3) might better correlate with cancer‐specific survival (CSS) and with response to treatment. We evaluated the association between Ki‐67 index, PHH3‐estimated mitotic
