Review of nutrition management of pediatric intestinal pseudo‐obstruction

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 1048-1060, August 2026.
Abstract Chronic intestinal pseudo‐obstruction (CIPO) is a rare, heterogeneous, and debilitating disorder characterized by profound intestinal dysmotility and severe nutrition challenges. Its presentation resembles that of mechanical bowel obstruction, but CIPO occurs in the absence of luminal obstruction.

A Case of Primary Pulmonary Meningioma With Slow Enlargement Over a 9‐Year Period

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Primary pulmonary meningioma (PPM) is an extremely rare benign tumour that often remains asymptomatic. Although most cases are incidentally detected as solitary pulmonary nodules on chest imaging, reports on their long‐term clinical courses remain limited. Herein, we report a case of PPM with slow growth over a nine‐year period.

Redefining the Role of Chemotherapy and Targeted Cytotoxic Delivery in Lung Neuroendocrine Tumors

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 16, August 2026.
Perioperative chemotherapy utility remains uncertain and lacks universal standardization. Platinum/etoposide shows suboptimal efficacy in lung NET (neuroendocrine tumors); oral alkylators (temozolomide) alone or in combination (e.g., with capecitabine), and cabozantinib offer promising disease control.

Prevention of microglial activation and postoperative cognitive deficits by positive allosteric modulation of α5‐GABAA receptors

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 16, Page 4836-4854, August 2026.
Background and Purpose Long‐lasting cognitive deficits after surgery in aged individuals, referred to as perioperative neurocognitive disorder (NCD), are a significant public health concern. Such postoperative cognitive deficits are dependent on the presence of microglia in the brain, which, when activated, trigger neuroinflammation.

Decoding Brain Development and Function Through GABAergic Inhibitory Neurons

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 64, Issue 3, August 2026.
Interneuron subtype specification occurs case by case. Whereas some interneurons are specified very early, at the progenitor level, other interneurons develop final features during migration into the migratory stream or upon integration into specific cortical layers. The concept that interneuron specification can be significantly influenced by external
