The Potential of Phytochemicals to Overcome Multidrug Resistance in Metastatic Melanoma

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Metastatic melanoma is the most lethal form of skin cancer, accounting for most skin cancer‐related deaths. Immunotherapies and targeted therapies have improved overall and progression‐free survival rates in metastatic melanoma patients. The effectiveness of these therapies decreases due to multidrug resistance (MDR).

Venous Endothelial Cells Promote Osteoblast Differentiation More Effectively Than Arterial Cells via TGF‐β/BMP9 and Notch Pathway‐Related Gene Expression

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The coupling between angiogenesis and osteogenesis is a key determinant of skeletal homeostasis, yet the influence of endothelial cell origin on osteoblast differentiation remains underexplored. Here, we investigated how venous (HUVECs) and arterial (HCAECs) endothelial cells differentially modulate the osteogenic phenotype of human ...

Developmental Impact of Maternal Immune Activation on the Fetal Immune System and Lung

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 1, January 2026.
Maternal immune activation triggers elevated cytokines (IL‐6 and IL‐17A), disrupting fetal immune system development. This not only alters hematopoietic stem cell balance but also leads to ILC2 hyperactivation in the lung, which could potentially affect susceptibility to allergic diseases in the offspring.

Natural Products Targeting Notch Signaling in Cancer: Mechanistic Insights and Food‐Based Chemoprevention Potential

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
The Notch signaling pathway plays a dual role in cancer, acting as both a tumor promoter and suppressor depending on cellular context. This review highlights how natural products modulate Notch signaling to inhibit tumor initiation, progression, angiogenesis, and cancer stem cell maintenance.
