Cyclotrimerization Polymers as Precursors for Tailored Porous Carbons and Application in Supercapacitors

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Aldol condensation of diacetyl groups containing aromatic systems is utilized for the synthesis of conjugated polymeric precursors, which are pyrolyzed to form porous carbons. This precursor‐based approach for carbon material synthesis provides better control over the properties of the resulting carbon materials.
