Computational and Experimental Analyses of the Synergistic Corrosion Inhibition of Green Phytochemicals Found in Yellow Bush in Acidic Media

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
Synergistic interaction was observed to exist between terpineol, 1,5,9‐undecatriene‐2,6,10‐trimethyl‐(Z), and hexadecanoic acid‐methyl ester present in yellow bush. Yellow bush (YB) reduced acidic corrosion of API 5 L X65 steel, achieving optimum inhibition efficiency (IE) of 77.53% at 40 ppm, 89.99 at 60 ppm from WL, EIS and Tafel plots.

Fermentation‐Assisted Valorization: A Sustainable Strategy for Turning Fruit By‐Products Into Value‐Added Food Supplements

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT A substantial proportion of fresh fruit undergoes processing, resulting in underutilized fruit by‑products (FBPs) that are rich in dietary fiber and bioactive compounds. Recent FBP valorization trends demonstrate that fermentation significantly enhances microbiological, nutritional, and sensory attributes, yielding value‑added food supplements.

Characterization of Brewers' Spent Grains (Major Brewery Waste) From Local Breweries Around Columbus, Ohio in the United States

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Brewers' spent grains (BSG), a major byproduct of the brewing industry, accounts for 85% of its total waste. Due to its high initial moisture content, BSG has a limited shelf life. However, once dried, BSG contains around 60% dietary fibers and 20% protein making them a promising high fiber and high‐protein ingredient to be incorporated in ...

Shelf‐Life Enhancement of Sugarcane Juice With Herbal Extracts: Extracted Through Novel Microwave‐Assisted Drying Extraction Technique

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 91-99, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Antioxidants in foods delay or prevent the oxidation of the food. Previously, synthetic antioxidants were commonly used in food formulations, but, due to safety concerns, interest in natural antioxidants has intensified. A novel microwave‐assisted drying extraction process was adopted to dry mint and coriander leaves.
