The segregation of Calb1, Calb2, and Prph neurons reveals distinct and mixed neuronal populations and projections to hair cells in the inner ear and central nuclei

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Three populations of hair cells have a distinct expression of Calb1 and Calb2. (A, A′D) The central is highly positive for Calb1 while surrounding HC are positive for Calb2. Later, a calyx forms primarily with Calb1. (B, B′, D′, D″) Saccule and utricle start out positive for Calb2 but will upregulate the Calb1 in the striola that is primarily forming ...

N‐SDM 2.0: a reengineered software with extended features for nested species distribution modelling

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Species distribution models (SDMs) are central tools for predicting and forecasting how species respond to environmental changes, yet their reliability depends on accurately capturing ecological processes across spatial scales while accounting for uneven data availability and resolution.

Experimental spat collecting of the edible oyster, Saccostrea cucullata born (Bivalvia) in the Kundichi creek, Dar es Salaam

open access: yesTanzania Journal of Science, 2001
A one year study was carried out at Kunduchi Creek, Dar es Salaam, to determine spat settlement using the three different substrates (clutches): coconut shells, asbestos and cockle shells, set at three different depths, 0.5 m, 1 m, and 1.5 m. The experiment was set up at three different sites within the creek.

Diagnostic yield and copy number variants findings in 219 adult patients with developmental and epileptic encephalopathy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract In a clinical setting, exome sequencing (ES) with copy number variant (CNV) analysis is currently the most effective approach for developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE). However, trio‐based ES is often not feasible in adults, its costs remain prohibitive in certain health care settings, and computational tools for CNV calling still

Clinical Relevance of BACH1 Expression in Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT BTB and CNC homolog 1 (BACH1) is a redox‐sensitive transcription factor implicated in tumor progression, metabolic reprogramming, and therapy resistance in several cancers. However, its prognostic significance and role in therapy resistance in non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain unclear.

Spatially Heterogeneous and Nonlinear Responses of Ecosystem Service Value to Human Activity Intensity in an Arid Mountain–Oasis–Desert Urban Agglomeration

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rapid urbanization and agricultural expansion are reshaping human–environment relationships in arid regions; however, the spatially heterogeneous and nonlinear relationships between human activities and ecosystem services remain insufficiently understood.

Exploring more‐than‐human ethics and the digital dimensions of nature recovery through an interactive fiction game

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract This perspective piece considers how a more‐than‐human approach to ethics can foster nuanced, critical understandings of the digital dimensions of nature recovery. A more‐than‐human approach expands on who or what is included as ethical actors while focusing on the interconnectedness of human and nonhuman experiences.

Reservoir‐Computer auf Basis von Magnonen: Maschinelles Lernen im reziproken Raum

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, EarlyView.

Influence of Microstructure of Substrate Surface on the Attachment of Juvenile Mussels

open access: yesFishes
The morphological characteristics and surface roughness of substrata can significantly affect the settlement behaviour of planktonic larvae and the post-settlement survival of benthic organisms, such as mussels.

Accidental plant poisonings in France: Lessons from a decade of national toxicovigilance

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Accidental plant poisonings reveal how modern societies are losing everyday botanical knowledge once central to food and health safety. By analyzing a decade of French toxicovigilance data, this study shows that most severe cases arise from plant misidentification or misguided self‐medication.
