Spectroscopic ellipsometry study of gold nanostructures for LSPR bio-sensing applications

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research, 2017
This main aim of this work is the development of optical biosensors based on the LSPR phenomenon in nano-structured gold films suitable for detection of low molecular weight analytes such as mycotoxins.

Spectroscopic ellipsometry of very rough surfaces

open access: yesOptics Express, 2023
This work expands the use of spectroscopic ellipsometry to surfaces with roughness that is similar to or larger than the wavelength of the incident light. By using a custom-built spectroscopic ellipsometer and varying the angle of incidence, we were able to differentiate between the diffusely scattered and specularly reflected components.

Comparative investigation of damage induced by diatomic and monoatomic ion implantation in silicon [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The damaging effect of mono- and diatomic phosphorus and arsenic ions implanted into silicon was investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) and high-depth-resolution Rutherford backscattering and channeling techniques.

Single trace terahertz spectroscopic ellipsometry

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
A new technique for terahertz time-domain ellipsometry is presented. Information of reflection coefficients of the sample in two orthogonal polarizations is encoded on the same terahertz trace by using a birefringent medium. This allows for single measurement refractive index extraction without the need for a moving analyzer.

The growth of Mg2TiO4 single crystals using a four-mirror furnace [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2011
A single crystal of Mg2TiO4 was grown by the travelling solvent float zone (TSFZ) method. The lattice parameter a = 0.8444(8) nm was determined by X-ray powder diffraction analysis.

Electrochemical Aptasensor for Detection of Dopamine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This work presents a proof of concept of a novel, simple, and sensitive method of detection of dopamine, a neurotransmitter within the human brain. We propose a simple electrochemical method for the detection of dopamine using a dopamine-specific aptamer

Application of Spectroscopic Ellipsometry and Mueller Ellipsometry to Optical Characterization [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Spectroscopy, 2013
This article provides a brief overview of both established and novel ellipsometry techniques, as well as their applications. Ellipsometry is an indirect optical technique, in that information about the physical properties of a sample is obtained through modeling analysis. Standard ellipsometry is typically used to characterize optically isotropic bulk
