Spectroscopic ellipsometry methods for brevetoxin detection
The spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), and attenuated internal reflection spectroscopic ellipsometry (TIRE) are promising methods in label-free biosensing applications. An ellipsometer running under surface plasmon resonance (SPR) conditions has unique advantages over other SPR-based methods in terms of sensitivity and real-time/label-free measurement ...

Spectroscopic ellipsometry as a route to thermodynamic characterization
Crucial data for modelling dynamics and miscibility are reflected in thermal expansivities. Analysis of ten polymer films and correlation with volumetric data show ellipsometry is an effective route.

Spectroscopic ellipsometry of very rough surfaces
This work expands the use of spectroscopic ellipsometry to surfaces with roughness that is similar to or larger than the wavelength of the incident light. By using a custom-built spectroscopic ellipsometer and varying the angle of incidence, we were able to differentiate between the diffusely scattered and specularly reflected components.

Optimal properties of metals by spectroscopic ellipsometry [PDF]
Abstract The use of spectroscopic ellipsometry for the accurate determination of the optical properties of liquid and solid metals is discussed and illustrated with previously published data for Li and Na. New data on liquid Sn and Hg from 0.6 to 3.7 eV are presented. Liquid Sn is Drudelike.

The growth of Mg2TiO4 single crystals using a four-mirror furnace [PDF]
A single crystal of Mg2TiO4 was grown by the travelling solvent float zone (TSFZ) method. The lattice parameter a = 0.8444(8) nm was determined by X-ray powder diffraction analysis.

Spectroscopic Ellipsometry of Conducting Anisotropic Pedot thin Films. [PDF]
We measure the optical response of poly[3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene] thin films through the combination of polarized photon spectroscopies (variable‐angle ellipsometry, UV–mid‐IR reflectance and transmittance) and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering, revealing anisotropic optical response and conductivity and enabling structural modelling of chain and π‐system ...
